“In November of 2003, Balanced Image foundered. He was immediately placed on Phenylbutazone and Flunixin to address the pain. These pain medications quickly contributed to gastro intestinal upset and bouts of colic.

Dr. Gordon Chang of Omega Alpha Pharmaceuticals was one of the specialists we
spoke to regarding treatment options. Dr. Chang has developed the liquid herbal preparation called Antiflam to treat Balanced Image’s complex health problems.

 The results were rapid and gratifying. Within a month of taking Antiflam  Balanced Image
was very comfortable and his digestive upset had subsided.
He was taken off the pain medication sooner than anticipated.

Balanced Image has had progressive laminitis for the last 8 years of his life and many x–rays have been done over time to monitor the damage. We re–x–rayed his feet at the 3–month point of treatment and found the lamina wall had increased by 3x on one foot and 2x on the other. This prompted us to remove the rocking shoes he has worn during the last six years.
To date, seven months into this experiment Balanced Image is healthy, happy and playing daily in his paddock here at Glengate
Farms, barefoot for the first time in ages.
